A good deal 은 거래나 사업계약을 잘한 경우에 쓰는 말입니다. 물론 물건을 싸게 잘 샀다고 할 때도 사용할 수 있고요.  오늘 본문에서 Jason 이 새 랩톱 컴퓨터를 아주 싸게 샀다고 했습니다. “Yeah it is. I got it over the weekend. It was such a good deal so I had to buy it. 응, 맞아. 지난 주말에 샀어. 아주 싸길래 산 거야.”라고 말입니다. 참고로 랩톱은 작고 가벼워서 무릎 위에 올려놓고도 쓸 수 있는 휴대용 컴퓨터를 말합니다. 외부 전원이 없어도 몇 시간 동안은 쓸 수 있고요. 모니터와 자판을 마주 보게 접을 수 있습니다. 계속해서 예문을 통해 오늘 표현에 대해 더 자세히 알아보죠. “I got a good deal on the suit. It was half price.”라고 하면 “정장을 아주 싸게 샀어. 반 값으로 말이야.”라는 뜻이 됩니다. 또 다른 예를 들어 보겠습니다. “Only $20 for all that? That’s a good deal!”라고 하면 “다해서 20달러 밖에 안 해? 싸게 잘 샀네.” 라는 뜻입니다.
